Mepco is committed to providing you with a secure online experience. We have added browser security indicators (such as the “lock” icon in the bottom right corner of the browser frame and the “https” in the URL).
The Mepco website safeguards customer information by maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard non-public information about you. To prevent unauthorized users from accessing our systems, we take several measures including password complexity enforcement, password protection, data encryption, secured firewalls, account lockouts, and session time-outs.
Our websites support Internet browsers which use encryption. Encryption scrambles information for transmission, in this case, between your PC and the Mepco’s computing systems. Information that is encrypted at one end is decrypted (decoded) upon receipt at the other end.
If you are using a browser with the encryption feature, your browser will display the symbol of a secured padlock in the browser window during an encrypted session. The location of the symbol is different for each browser:
An Internet firewall is another security feature we employ -- it is designed to prevent unauthorized access to Mepco’s computer systems from external sources.
